After contributing significant resources to the construction of the temple, David led his people into a time of praise and thanksgiving. When we partner with God, we will be moved to praise Him and to break out into a time of celebration for what He has done.
Text: 1 Chronicles 29:1-20Christian giving is not about legalism, but about grace. Love asks, “How much can I give?” Legalism asks, “How little can I give?” We don’t give because we have to, but because we want to. Authentic and joyful giving is an unmistakable sign that we’ve been changed by God’s grace. Our giving should be thoughtful, enthusiastic, voluntary and cheerful.
Text: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15Jesus reminds us that we can only serve one master – money or the Almighty. If we don’t manage our money, it will manage us. Mammom is personified as a rival god because it fights for supremacy in our lives. Contrary to popular opinion, money is not just a neutral medium of exchange but a “power” with life of its own. As we focus on building for the future, we’ll disarm the dollar dragon by transferring ownership of everything we have to God.
Text: Matthew 6:19-24When the fruit of self-control is not evident in our lives, we’re vulnerable to all kinds of relational ruptures. When the Spirit controls us, we will demonstrate restraint in our lives.
Text: Proverbs 25:28The Resurrection is either one of the most wicked, heartless, vicious hoaxes ever or it is the most fantastic fact of history. As Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5:17, “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless.” This message will focus on three pieces of evidence, that when taken together, will provide convincing proof that Jesus rose from the dead – the empty tomb, multiple witnesses, and changed lives.
Text: 1 Corinthians 15:17Calvary was the place of three ugly crosses. We’ll focus on the cross of Rebellion, the cross of Repentance, and the cross of Redemption.
Text: Luke 23:32-43As we look at Jesus, it’s important to realize that his death was no accident. The cross did not happen to Him – He came on purpose for it. His death resulted in our acquittal and gave us open access to the Father. Just as people have responded differently over the centuries, so today, we see different responses – the scoffers, the spectators, the seekers, and the saved.
Text: Luke 23:26-49When faced with the uncertainty of the future, Jabez next asks God to put His hand upon him. Once God blesses him, and helps him break out of his predictable routines, he desires to rely on God’s guidance. His last request is for God to keep him from evil. Instead of just praying for strength, He boldly asks the Almighty to steer him away from those things that will trip him up spiritually. This verse concludes by saying that “God granted his request.” God will answer this prayer in your own life as well – pray it on a regular basis and watch God work!
