Good Words for Today

We are not condemned because we struggle. The sin is in giving in, not in the fight itself.

It's better to be faithful and unpopular than cowardly and loved by all.

Sometimes we think, "I wish so-and-so would hear this sermon." You probably need it more than they do. Take heed to your own soul first.

Lord, thank you for closed doors that kept me from going in the wrong direction. Amen.

What will happen in 2020? I don't know, but I know the One who does know. If God is not worried about my future, why should I worry about it?

Sometimes we get too mystical about God’s will. If we trust God, he'll lead us. That's simple but not easy. Will you trust God today?

There are three qualifications for those who would serve the Lord: The first is love. The second is love. The third is love. (John 21:15-17)

Here is a prayer God delights to answer:  “Lord Jesus, I come to you as a little child.  Help me to grow in my faith as I walk with you today.”

God’s answer to loneliness is wrapped up in a person—Jesus Christ. He will never leave you or forsake you. Do you know him?

Lord Jesus, grant that in all my going and coming that I might not be too busy for you. You are welcome in my heart and my home today! Amen.

Christ came for broken people who aren't ashamed to admit it. If that’s you, then good news. Christ came for you!

There is great danger in coming near to Christ but never trusting him. The scribes were six miles from Jesus but never got any closer.

How far is God willing to go? He will leave heaven to meet you where you are. That’s what Jesus did 2000 years ago.

The coming of Christ means the end of all human boasting. The mighty are brought down by a baby in a manger.

Lord Jesus, grant me eyes of faith to see you as you are, King in a cradle and Lord of the universe. Amen.

The world had no room for Jesus 2000 years ago, but he came anyway. He still comes to every heart that makes room for him.

“Jesus Christ ... the ruler of the kings of the earth” (Revelation 1:5). Put your hands in his hands because those hands rule the universe.

His kingdom will never end. Why would you follow anyone else?

Christians pray in Jesus’ name because there is no power in any other name to answer our prayers.

Take a breath and give thanks. Without Jesus you wouldn’t breathe at all.

Do not despair if the world seems to grow darker every day for the darker the night, the brighter the light shines.

We all need to be born again. Jesus said we must be born again. Without it, none of us will ever see the kingdom of God.

Many people think that the more they talk, the more they have communicated. Usually the opposite is true.

We run from God rather than to him because we know our own hearts all too well and his barely at all.
