Who is Jesus to Me?

October 19, 2009

Last week I sent out a sermon called Who is Jesus Christ? In response a friend in Seattle wrote down his thoughts. I found them very moving.

Who is this person Jesus Christ? It’s as simple a question as it is deep. This is where God took my thoughts on your question.

Who is Jesus Christ to me?
He is the tissue that wipes away my tears.
He is the reason in the midst of my confusion.
He is the crutch as I limp along in this life.
He is the reserve that gets me through the day – even when the fuel light has been on for most of the day.
He is tenderizer of my heart – that bends my knees to show compassion to those who are less fortunate.
He is the janitor who cleans my heart when life’s ’junk’ defiles His temple.
He is the answer sheet as I go through life’s test of multiple choices.
He is the master mechanic in this broken down world.
He is the spotter when life’s load becomes too much.
He is the magnet that polarizes my life.
He is the the discovered treasure that makes my heart leap and sing to the world.
He is the last piece of the puzzle.

He is EVERYTHING to me my friend.

I like every one of those word pictures, but I kept coming back to “He is the tenderizer of my heart.” I also really like “He is the spotter when life’s load becomes too much.»

What would you add to that list?
