Weekend Update

February 17, 2012

On Saturday morning we leave for a week of ministry at Word of Life Florida. This marks the 19th year that I’ve spoken at the conference center. When we first went there, the center was at the end of a gravel road in the middle of nowhere. I remember speaking to 19 people one morning that first year. Now hundreds come for each session. The property includes a youth camp, a Bible institute, a conference center, and a bustling RV park. When Tom Phillips (then and now the Executive Director of Word of Life Florida) invited us to come the first time, we had no idea it would become an annual tradition for us and one of our favorite weeks of the year.

I’ll be speaking nine times at the conference center and once to the men. Besides the usual prayers for strength and blessing, I need your prayers because I’ve been battling an upper respiratory issue the last few days. I’m hoping the meds will kick in soon and knock it out. Marlene speaks to the women on Tuesday afternoon.

We hope to meet with many friends and supporters of the ministry. We’re taking China brochures and a card asking for prayer support for the China project.

While we’re in the Tampa area, Mark is in Boca Raton, Florida speaking to about 300 high school students at a DNOW (Discipleship Now) event. He speaks Friday and Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

And this weekend KBM board members Peter Faulkner and Dave Hoy are in Nashville at the National Religious Broadcasters convention. They will meet with the Trans World Radio Asia Team that will handle the details of the Keep Believing China broadcast, including the follow-up with listeners.

We continue to hear from people around the world who will be part of the 1000 people praying on Monday, March 26, at 6 AM CDT at the very moment the first Keep Believing broadcast airs in China. Just today we heard from a medical student in Cuba who will be praying with us on March 26.

Will you be one of the 1000?
