Wednesday Odds and Ends

A few midweek items of interest . . .

*If you are an AOL subscriber to the sermon list, you haven’t received the last two sermons because AOL has decided to block the sermons using their antispam software. This sort of thing happens routinely and those of us who don’t send out spam work hard to prevent it. We’re working on a solution. Hope to resolve the problem in the next few days.

*BTW, yesterday’s sermon went out to 5212 people around the world. That’s our highest total ever. Over 600 of those are AOL subscribers who, unfortunately, never saw the sermon.

*You can, however, read it online. The sermon is called What God Remembers That We Forget.

*This Sunday I’m speaking at CrossPoint Church in Trussville, Alabama (a suburb of Birmingham). My good friend Ryan Whitley serves as pastor of CrossPoint. I’ll be speaking in all three morning services–8:15, 9:30 and 10:45 AM. If you are in the Birmingham area, we would love you to come by and say hello.

*And on Monday from 9 AM-12 noon I’m speaking to the Birmingham Baptist Association Minister’s Conference. Butch Henderson (a lifetime friend and member of the KBM Board of Reference) invited me to give a preview of the January Bible Study on the Book of Exodus.

*For a few hours earlier today I posted an item called “Questions Wanted for January Podcast Series.” On second thought, hold those questions. I found out that I jumped the gun because very soon we are launching a brand-new FAQ section of the website. Derek Taylor, our super-gifted web designer, tells me it may be ready to go by January. Having had a sneak peek, I am pumped about what it will add to the ongoing conversation that takes place on our website. Derek’s design is amazing. Can’t wait for you to see it. So we’ll work on that podcasting idea in connection with the new FAQ section coming in early 2009.
