Violet Arrives and Other Good News

October 27, 2013

Violet was born last Thursday morning.

Dear Praying Friends,

For the last few weeks we’ve been talking about a new four-minute video called Set Free: How God Met Nick Santiago Behind Bars. He found Christ in the Cook County Jail when he read An Anchor for the Soul. We’re praying that many people will watch the video so that they can catch the vision of reaching more people for Christ through this little gospel book.

A few weeks ago we were asked to donate 300 copies of Anchor for a “Tailgate Party” at a New Hampshire State Prison. That’s a first for us. We usually think of tailgating at a football game. Our friend Wendell Calder (who spoke at the event) sent us this report:

Last Wednesday at the New Hampshire State Prison we had nearly 250 men attend our TAILGATE PARTY REVIVAL. Each one received a copy of ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL along with other material. I shared the Gospel two times- I do not have a final total but well over 50 men indicated they had trusted Christ as personal Savior. We had a Host at each table and they shared their decision with the Host. THE GOSPEL IS STILL THE DYNAMITE OF GOD UNTO SALVATION!

That’s an amazing report. We’re glad we could be a small part of the big thing God did at the state prison in New Hampshire.

Thank you for praying and thank you for giving to help us. We’re all in this together for the sake of the Kingdom.

Here are a few quick updates on various parts of the ministry:

1. We’re redesigning our website to make it fit better on smartphones and tablets. This major overhaul will also highlight the Sermons section, which we know from Google Analytics is the most popular part of our website. We also plan to highlight ebooks and video in the redesign. Please pray for Derek Taylor and for Mark and Josh as they work together on the final stages of the redesign.

2. We will soon transform our China website into the China Resource Library so that we can better serve the Chinese church with easy-to-find sermons, podcasts and video, all searchable by title and Scripture reference. Pray for Mark as he oversees this project and for our friends at TWR in the US and in Taiwan who are working with us on this project.

3. When we moved to Dallas in April, we started praying about office space for KBM. We have a lead we’re following up on. Please pray with us about this.

4. We’re continuing to raise money to cover the $60,000 cost of printing and mailing 100,000 Anchors to ministries like the one in New Hampshire. At the moment we’re about halfway there. Pray that God will supply the funds so that we can respond to the many requests we receive.

5. In a week Ray travels to Connecticut to speak at two banquets for Caring Families Pregnancy Centers. On that same trip he will speak to a leadership conference at Word of Life in New York. Pray for him as he prepares his messages.

On a personal note, we’re delighted to announce the birth of Violet Caris Pritchard, born on Thursday morning to Josh and Leah. Here’s a picture of Knox holding his baby sister. We thank the Lord for the safe arrival of our fourth grandchild.

One final thing. Last month Ray traveled to Jacksonville, Florida to speak at the “Church Institute” at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, pastored by our friend H. B. Charles Jr. Ray and H. B. did a video that turned out to be a sort of “This is Your Life” story. H. B. got Ray talking about his growing-up years in Alabama, his call to the ministry, how we met and got married, Ray’s call to the ministry, and how God has led us step by step. Ray said it was the most personal interview he has done. The interview is called Ray Pritchard Part 1 because it ends with the call to go to Oak Park in 1989. Part 2 (coming next week) talks about the Oak Park years, how and why we decided to leave, and the road that led to Keep Believing Ministries.

If you’d like to know our story, check out the video because in it Ray shares many things he has not talked about before.

As you can tell, we’ve got a lot going on right now. Thank you for your prayers. We depend on you to pray for us so that we can keep going in the strength that God provides. We love hearing from you. Let us know how you are doing.

God bless you!

Ray and Marlene
