Uganda, Here We Come

April 9, 2010

Linda Hale made these Keep Believing baggage tags. Mike Maynard attaches them to the bags.

In a couple of hours Jim and Colleen King will arrive from Columbus, Ohio. We’re meeting MaryAnn Spiegel in Amsterdam. We should arrive in Uganda around 8 PM Friday (12 noon Chicago time).

Jennifer and Sally at the Delta counter made it look easy.

Sometimes living in a smaller city can be a blessing, especially when you’ve got to ship 8 extra bags stuffed with books for a Christian school in Africa. When we got to the Tupelo airport at 8 AM, they told us the ticket counter wouldn’t open until 8:30 AM. But once things got started, it didn’t take very long.

Linda and Marlene talk it over at the food court in the Atlanta airport.

Jennifer and Sally at the Delta counter were amazingly unflustered as they worked through our reservations, checked our passports, and watched as we weighed every single bag to make sure we didn’t go over the 50 pound limit. That done, we passed through security and boarded the plane for the short flight to Atlanta.

Here is our itinerary for our trip to Uganda and Kenya:
