Toledo This Weekend

April 25, 2013

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

This week we’re on the road to Toledo, Ohio.

Two years ago Ray spent a weekend with our friends David and Kelly Kaiser who serve with many others at Western Avenue Ministries. They provide tangible hope in Jesus’ name to the residents of South Toledo, one of the most difficult neighborhoods in America. Ray came back from that weekend profoundly moved by what he saw and experienced.

A century ago C. T. Studd wrote these famous words:

“Some wish to live within the sound of Church or Chapel bell; I want to run a Rescue Shop within a yard of hell.»

That’s what our friends in Toledo are doing. We’re glad to make a return visit to do whatever we can to encourage them in their work for the Lord. They are truly frontline soldiers for Christ.

We’re flying to Toledo on Friday. Marlene speaks at “Baby University” on Saturday morning. We lead a Saturday afternoon seminar on “How to Stay Encouraged in Hard Times.” On Sunday morning Ray speaks at the Christian Fellowship of Toledo and on Sunday night at the Mosaic worship service. If you are in the Toledo area, we would love to meet you this weekend.

This is one venture that we undertake because of the support of our friends. Pray for us as we travel to and from Toledo. Ask God to use us to encourage our brothers and sisters who serve the Lord there. We’re praying that God will give us listening hearts so that we will hear his voice speaking to us this weekend.

Here in Dallas we’re feeling more and more at home every day. God continues to open doors and make connections for us. Through the internet Ray is able to do live broadcasts on American Family Radio twice a week.

Thanks for your prayers for Derek Taylor. The transfer of our website to a new server is virtually complete.

We’re grateful to all our prayer partners for your love and your concern for us. Please let us know how you are doing.

God bless you!

Ray and Marlene
