Time for a Vacation

July 3, 2006

This will be the last weblog entry I will post for five weeks. We all need a vacation from time to time, and the time has come for me. In three weeks Josh and Leah will get married in Vermont. Between now and then I will be speaking at two Bible conferences. Two weeks after the wedding, we are traveling to Chicago for a wedding reception and a speaking engagement. Plus Mark arrived home from China on Thursday and will return to China in early August. So the next few weeks are primarily family time. I hope you will understand the need to take a break, and I hope you’ll still be here when the weblog entries resume in early August.
Between now and then I hope you will visit the sermon archive. It contains almost 800 full-text sermons available for reading and downloading. Please feel free to use those sermons in any way that you like. Preach them yourself. Take my name off and put your name on. Use them, amend them, improve them, it’s fine with me. We’re all in this together for the Kingdom of God. Also, be sure and check out Brian Bill’s sermon archive.
Here is my ministry schedule for the next few weeks:
July 8-15 Cannon Beach Conference Center, Oregon
July 15-20 Word of Life, Schroon Lake, New York
July 30 Harrisburg Baptist Church, Tupelo, MS (AM services)
August 6 Wheaton (IL) Evangelical Free Church (AM services)
If you are near any of these locations, please come by and say hello. Marlene and I would love to meet you in person.
Finally, check out the latest news about Keep Believing Ministries. I learned over the weekend that Keep Believing now has a webpage on MySpace. My friend Doug Watson from Glasgow, Scotland will be updating it regularly.
I hink that covers everything. The weblog updates will return in about five weeks. Until then, I hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July. Enjoy the summer. See you in August, God willing.
