God’s commandments reveal God’s kindness.
Text: Exodus 19:1-25In this metaphor, Jesus clearly states that He is the only way to have salvation and security. We must pass through Him in order to be saved and it is only through Him that we can have our daily needs met.
Text: John 10:1-10While people look for someone to lead them, only Jesus can guide us because He is light Himself. Darkness is the first thing that God overcame in the original creation and darkness is flooded with light through the new creation. Unfortunately, those who don’t know the light often lash out at the Lord who alone illuminates the world.
Text: John 8:12-32Jesus begins by referring to Himself as the ultimate source of sustenance. He has just fed the 5,000 and his reference to bread echoes back to the manna given to God’s people in the wilderness. Jesus wants to lift his listeners from a barren, food-dominated existence to the understanding that He alone can satisfy the supreme hunger of life.
