Portland to Portland!

July 5, 2013

Dear Praying Friends,

It’s time to head west.

This week we’ve been at Living Waters Bible Conference in Danforth, Maine. We were almost as far east as you can be in the continental US (and just across Grand Lake from New Brunswick, Canada). After Ray finished his series on the life of Joseph this morning, we drove to Portland, Maine where we will spend the night.

On Saturday we fly from Portland to Portland.
That is, from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon by way of Atlanta.

Then some friends will drive us to the Pacific Coast where we will begin a week of ministry at Cannon Beach Conference Center.

This is an unusual schedule, but it’s nice to have the night in Portland to rest before we travel to Portland (just try figuring that out!).

The week in Maine has been wonderful in all respects. We’ve had the privilege of ministering to folks from New England and Canada. We love this part of the country because the people are always glad to see us. Someone said, “Thank you for coming all this way to be with us.” To which we can say, “Thank you for the invitation.” We love New England and the buoyant faith of the believers here.

Please pray for good health and strength as we continue our ministry trip. Ray is speaking 23 times in these two weeks. We are both speaking this week at Cannon Beach.

Last week we mentioned that we have ordered another 100,000 copies of An Anchor for the Soul for free distribution to prison ministries, military ministries, crisis pregnancy centers, and other evangelistic outreaches. This new printing will cost $60,000 (that includes the cost of shipping books to the various ministries). This week we received a request from a chaplain at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. Here is part of what we wrote:

The prison could use approximately 500 copies of this book. The copies will be made available to the prison population at all locations within the prison.

We would like to thank you and your ministry for your willingness to touch lives in this institution.

Those books are already on the way to the prison at Angola. We’re happy to see the Word of God spread behind bars as lives are changed through this little “gospel book.” Would you pray with us for the $60,000 needed to pay for this printing? A box of 100 Anchors costs approximately $60 to print and ship. If you’d like to help, you can use our online donation page.

We’re grateful to our friends who make up the Keep Believing Prayer Team. You are our “First Responders” who bring our needs before the throne in heaven. Thank you for being there for us.

Please let us know how you are doing.

God bless you!

Ray and Marlene
