Pinch-Hitting at Maranatha

Maranatha 2014

This Monday morning finds us in Chicago, but by tonight Marlene will be in Dallas and I will be in Muskegon, Michigan.

In a few hours I’m traveling to Muskegon to begin a week of ministry at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference. This is a late addition to my travel schedule. Last Monday someone called and asked if I could speak this week because their scheduled speaker had to cancel at the last second. It happens that this week is the only free week I have all summer. Since it was open, and since I’ve spoken at Maranatha many times before, and since we were going to be in Chicago this weekend and thus “in the neighborhood,” and most of all, since Marlene encouraged me to do it, I told them I would be glad to pinch-hit for them.

I think that God has something special in mind for weeks like this. I can’t prove that, but it often seems that God blesses these last-minute schedule changes in an unusual way.

If you happen to be in Western Michigan this week, please come to one of the services and say hello. I’m speaking Monday-Friday at 7 PM.

With that said, it’s time to get this busy day started. I hope you have a wonderful Monday and a great week.
