Pastor’s Seminar in Los Angeles

With the pastors at Mt. Sinai

On Sunday morning I am speaking at both morning services at Mt. Sinai. Here’s one difference between this church and other places where I have preached. Pastor Charles (everyone calls him “H.B.”) told me he preaches for 45-60 minutes and that the first service goes for 90 minutes, and the second service goes for two hours. That’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time. There’s no possible way I can go overtime tomorrow.

On Friday night when I arrived at LAX, one of the associate pastors picked me up and took me to my hotel. Then the two of us met Pastor Charles for dinner at the “Original Pantry,” a famous LA eatery that’s been around since the 1930s. We spent an hour and a half talking about preaching and the pastoral ministry.

I love it! I’ve had great fun already this weekend, and I’m sure tomorrow will be a wonderful day at church.
