On the Road to Sumas, Washington

September 21, 2009

This morning I’m starting a long journey that begins in Tupelo and will end late this afternoon in Sumas, Washington. If you’ve never heard of Sumas, well, that’s not surprising because it’s a tiny town located on the northern edge of Washington, just across the border from Abbotsford, British Columbia. To get there I’m flying from Tupelo to Memphis to Seattle to Bellingham where Russ Holland will pick me up and drive me to Cedar Springs Conference Center.

I’ll be speaking at a Pastors and Wives Escape that starts tonight. The invitation came almost two years ago from someone who has been reading the weekly email sermons.

Because this is a quick trip, I’m taking my computer and a carry-on bag and nothing else. Even though I’ll only be in Washington for about 36 hours, I’m happy to make the trip because encouraging pastors is a big part of what Keep Believing Ministries is all about.

I’ve never been to Seattle or Bellingham or (needless to say) Sumas. So I’m glad for this opportunity to meet with pastors who serve the Lord in one of the most unchurched areas of the United States. Please pray for safe travel, physical strength, open doors for ministry, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit on the messages. God willing, I’ll be back home late Wednesday night.
