News from China and Canada

1) This morning I received a note from ZDL Books in Beijing. They publish the Chinese translation of The ABCs of Wisdom. Here was the unexpected good news:

I am happy about this because the book is selling better in China than it ever sold in the US. It is available in Christian bookstores and also in can also be ordered through the various government-owned bookstores across China.

2) I also received a note from my friend René Frey. He served as my translator when I spoke at the MissionFest in Montreal last November. René pastors a lively, Spirit-filled, culturally diverse congregation in the Rosemont section of Monteal. When I preached there on Sunday morning, he introduced me to a young man to whom he had given a copy of the French translation of An Anchor for the Soul, telling me that the young man was struggling with the concept of being a sinner. I heard nothing more until René sent me this message via Facebook:

Dear Ray, While you were in Montreal for MissionFest, and you preached at our Church in Rosemont, I gave your book to a young man in our congregation. We had been sharing the Gospel but he had never been under conviction. The paragraph about “a light feeling” associated with forgiveness of sins in your book finally touched his heart and we baptized him on Easter Sunday. Praise the Lord and keep up the good fight!
