Moody Pastors Conference Next Week

May 16, 2013

Dear Prayer Partners,

It’s good to be home again, if only for a few days.

On Monday we fly to Chicago for a week of ministry. At 11 AM on Tuesday Ray speaks at the Moody Pastors’ Conference. He is one of a number of speakers, including Alistair Begg, Tommy Nelson, Michael Easley, Voddie Baucham, and Paul Nyquist, president of Moody Bible Institute. We’re grateful for this opportunity because we love pastors and want to do all we can to encourage them.

On Memorial Day weekend Ray will speak at a family retreat for the Chinese Bible Church of Oak Park, IL. The retreat will take place at a college in Rensselaer, Indiana. He is speaking on the theme “Find Rest” from Matthew 11:28-29.

We continue to see God open doors for ministry through the Internet. Here are two recent examples:

Thank you for the message on “No Condemnation.” Very powerful. I am a missionary in Ecuador and just returned from restoring a fallen brother. God used the Word powerfully. Great to see brokenness over sin and repentance. Praise God there is NOW NO Condemnation!

This one comes from the other side of the world:

I am an ordained minister serving as a missionary with a church planting ministry in Hyderabad, India. I came across your website while researching a Mother’s Day message and was very impressed with your 1992 sermon on “Men and Women in a Biblical Perspective.” I will be using some of the material from your sermon in my Mother’s Day message. Thanks for the help!

On a personal note, we’re glad for your prayers as we travel. Less than three weeks ago we were in Toledo seeing God’s work in the very tough South End. Marlene was unable to go to Haiti so Mark stepped in to go her place. At quite literally the last moment he flew the “red eye” from San Francisco to Miami to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was a great help to Ray in Pignon and did a great job preaching to hundreds of students at College de la Grace. Ray and Mark enjoyed worshiping with the Haitian believers whose faith shines bright amid much adversity.

Thank you for praying for us. Everything we do as a ministry—the travel, the preaching, the teaching, the online ministry, the China broadcast, the podcasts, the ebooks, and the Anchor book ministry—depends on the Lord’s blessing. Thank you for remembering us in your prayers.

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve been in Dallas for almost six weeks. We continue to feel more at home every day.

Please let us know how you are doing. We love hearing from you.

Ray and Marlene
