Miami Again

January 14, 2008

It’s about 8 AM and we’re sitting at gate D31 waiting for our flight to Dallas connecting on to Memphis where we will pick up our car and drive back to Tupelo. From the time we left the guesthouse in Santa Cruz last night, our travel time back home will be about 22 hours. We’re both a little bleary-eyed after the packed overnight flight from Santa Cruz to Miami.

(10:25 PM update: Later in the day when I was more awake, I listened to three excellent sermons–one by Mark Driscoll on “To Die is Gain,” one by Bill Hybels on the Ten Commandments, and one by Tommy Nelson on standing for the truth.)

I think I’ll be using my iPod Shuffle all the time.

Marlene said she managed to read three books on this trip. I managed to read exactly none.

Speaking of Eli Manning (how’s that for a segue?), how ’bout those Giants? I watched Eli play during his years at Ole Miss, and I’m glad to see him coming into his own as an NFL quarterback. I hope they make it to the Super Bowl.

It’s almost time to board the plane for Dallas. We’ll be home in about 10 hours.
