Letter from the Fairfax County Jail

July 6, 2009

Recently we received a letter from a 27-year-old prisoner at the Fairfax (VA) County Jail. He wrote to tell us that he had read my book An Anchor for the Soul. Here is the heart of what he wrote:

I thank you for your book “An Anchor for the Soul”, it was very inspirational for me. Today’s the day I finally let go, finally stopped hoping and wishing, today I finally put it all in Jesus’ hand, for his Sake. I am currently serving 16 months in a Fairfax County Jail for a drug charge. I know that God pre-arranged this book and I to meet here. I am now more thankful for this sentence and less bitter…..I’ve always heard the word “SALVATION” being used but I never understood the meaning until I came across your book….I’ve made it a priority to pass the book along to other inmates so that their search for the truth will come at last.

What a thrill to know that God used this little “gospel book” to bring this year man to faith in Christ. Now he’s burdened to share the book with other prisoners. That’s what it’s all about.

Last week we received the following request:

I am a Christian Chaplain with Bay Area Chaplains in CA. I am serving the Lord at West County Detention Facility in the Bay Area. Your ministry was so generous in providing your book “Anchor for the Soul” which continue to be a blessing to many. I am at a new facility and will like to receive your emails. Can you add me to your email list? And if possible, can you send me some copies of Anchor for the soul. Thanks.

We are shipping 1600 copies of Anchor this week, free and postage paid from our Book Depot in Chicago. We pray that God will use these little books to reach many prisoners for Christ.
