“Journey to Bethlehem” Now Online

December 18, 2009

Yesterday I spent an hour with Nancy Turner on WMBI-FM in Chicago doing a broadcast called Journey to Bethlehem. At Nancy’s request I painted some word pictures of familiar Bible stories. These short presentations are interspersed with music tied to the theme of the hour.

We all felt the Holy Spirit helping us as we retold the Christmas story in word and music. Nancy and Abby Ryan picked out music that fit each segment. Here are the six segments in order:

Mary’s Choice
Mary Believes the Impossible
Joseph’s Finest Hour
The First Christmas
What Does Christmas Mean?
His Kingdom Will Never End

My good friend Roy Patterson came in at the top of the hour and sang a beautiful rendition of “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.” Then we launched right into “Journey to Bethlehem.” The program ends with a contemporary rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus by Haven.

To listen to the broadcast, just click on Journey to Bethlehem. If you enjoy it, please pass the word (and the link) along to your friends.
