Introducing Two New KBM Board Members

July 14, 2010

We had our usual fun time at the Keep Believing board meeting on Monday night in Chicago. We started with a pizza supper punctuated with lots of laughter that continued throughout our meeting. Because our board is spread out, we don’t see each other very often so when we do, we always laugh a lot. It’s wonderful to be part of a group where you are truly glad to get together.

This time we added two new members to our board, the first one being Bert Duncan, a physician living in Tupelo, Mississippi. We met Bert and his wife Danna soon after we moved to Tupelo in October 2005. Since then they have become dear friends. I teach a Men’s Bible Study that meets at their home during the school year, and we attend the same Sunday School class at Harrisburg Baptist Church. Bert brings a great deal of wisdom to the board. He told us that he truly feels called to join the board, and we feel the same way.

We also welcomed Amber Cussen whom we have known for almost ten years. We met Amber at Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, IL. She reminded me that she used to go to the “Ask Pastor Ray” nights sponsored by the 20/20 ministry. Those “anything-goes” Q&A times were always a highlight of the year for me. She and her husband Jason live in Chicago where Amber started a very successful business called Amber’s Organizing. We’re excited because she shares the vision of what God is doing through KBM and will bring her considerable entrepreneurial skills to our board.

Every ministry needs gifted people who can serve on the board and give direction for the future. We’ve been blessed with excellent board members from the beginning, and we are glad to welcome Bert and Amber.
