Help Wanted for Anchor 10th Anniversary Edition

October 14, 2009

Next year marks the tenth anniversary of the publication of An Anchor for the Soul. Well over 400,000 copies of that little “gospel book” written in “Wal-Mart English” are now in print. God has allowed us to give away hundreds of thousands of copies to prisoners across America and to soldiers serving in the Armed Forces. Plus the book has been widely used in disaster relief (after 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina) and in rescue missions, street ministries, and crisis pregnancy centers.

We’re amazed and grateful to the Lord for how the book has been used.

In cooperation with Moody Publishers, we plan to issue a “10th Anniversary Edition” in 2010. That printing will push the total to over 500,000 copies in print.

Here’s where we need some help. We’re planning printing a revised version that updates the book for a new generation of readers. We could use 6-10 people who would like to read through the manuscript and make suggestions. In terms of those “Design” shows, we’re thinking of “Design on a Dime” more than an “Extreme Makeover.”

We want to make the book as effective as possible without greatly changing the length or the overall approach. Within those parameters, we could use some fresh eyes to look at the manuscript and give us your thoughts.

1. We want to do it all by email to keep it simple.
2. We’d like to get some feedback in the next three or four weeks.

There is no money involved in this because we don’t make money off Anchor. We pay to have to it printed and then we give it away.

But if you have a keen eye and enjoy reading and making suggestions, we could definitely use your help. You can send me an email and I’ll send you more information.

Thanks!
