Three prayers when you are criticized: "Lord, is it true?" "What are you saying to me through this?" "How can I respond with the grace of Christ?"
"Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds” (Matthew 14:12). Jesus works the miracle. The disciples distribute the food. Don’t get that backwards. We don’t work miracles. Jesus does.
“How many loaves do you have? Go and see” (Mark 6:38). You never have enough. That's the whole point. First, the disciples must realize they don't have enough. Take the little you have and give it to Jesus. Then step back and watch him work.
You don’t need to know the big picture. Just take the next step. Let God take care of everything else.
Quick fixes don’t work in the spiritual life. You can’t rush the river of God’s purpose. Give God time to do his work in you. If you want to grow, so slow.
O Lord, help us to serve you gladly today, knowing that nothing done in Jesus’ name is ever done in vain. Amen.
We cannot trace God’s hand in every circumstance because God paints on a canvas much larger than our tiny vision.
Plan for today: Keep my promises. Refuse to complain. Remember my blessings. I was going to make that list longer, but that's a good place to start. If we do those things, it will be good day!

God will never bring us to the place where we no longer need him.
