Good Words for Today
God is good, All the time, In every situation, No matter what. I am a witness!
Ruler of my life, help me to choose happiness today. Amen.
Lord, when I am frazzled, help me see beyond the moment to better things to come. Amen.
If Jesus is with you, you are safer in the furnace than anyplace else on earth.
Lord Jesus, grant me the wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent. Amen.
"The devil does not have to destroy you. He only has to distract you. " Daniel Henderson
No matter what your past, Jesus can save you. Any murderers reading these words? Any prostitutes? Any adulterers? Any liars? Any cheaters? Any angry people? Any thieves? Any hypocrites? Good News! No matter what you’ve done in the past, Jesus can save you.
God often uses temptation to force us to confront our own weakness. When we fall, we learn the hard way that God was right all along. But when we resist in Jesus' name, we grow stronger.
Lord God, save me from the folly of thinking that I need something besides You to be truly happy today. Amen.
Lord Jesus, let Your life be in me so that I may speak words of life to all I meet. Amen.
God repeatedly puts us in hard circumstances so he can squeeze prayer out of us.
Do you want to make a difference today? In the midst of evil, be holy. In the midst of bitterness, be forgiving. In the midst of hatred, be kind. In the midst of pride, be humble.
Lord, I seek Your wisdom—nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. Amen.
Father, if You gave Your Son for me, how can I ever doubt Your love for me? I can’t, and I won’t. Amen.
Have faith, child of God. Do not despair if you feel like you are alone. Trust in God and take the next step. If your current situation seems hard, remember that you are not home yet.
When it cannot do anything else, faith waits on the Lord. Oh, how hard that it for most of us! But waiting has its uses. It slows us down, it gives us time to think and pray, and it teaches us God is in charge, not us.
Give God time to work. He knows what he is doing even when we don’t have a clue.
Contentment does not mean passive acceptance of a bad situation. It is not the opposite of ambition. Contentment means that if I find myself in a hard place, I will thank God for the opportunity to trust him, I will use every legitimate means to improve the situation, but I will not fall into the trap of trying to take shortcuts in order to find an easy way out.
Lord God, I do not ask for an easy road, but for new understanding of the path I should follow. Amen.
Speak the truth, do it in love, and be patient with those who don’t see things the way you do.
We come and we go, but God’s purposes span the generations.
The Lord allows disappointment so that we will stay humble. He gives victory so that we will have hope.
If your sin is great, God's grace is greater. I ran across a simple statement that speaks to this issue: Regret means you’ve learned from your mistakes. If you regret your past, if you know you messed up, and if you’re tired of living among the pagans, you can come home.
Lord Jesus, help me to do what needs to be done today and to do it with gusto. Amen.
Faith means taking the next step and trusting God to bring us out in the right place. Sometimes things don’t work out as we planned, but that’s okay. Our part is to take the first step. God can take care of the rest.
Help me to be busy doing the work You have given me to do, O Lord. Save me from the folly of thinking that tomorrow is somehow more important than today. Amen.
Today’s disappointment prepares you for tomorrow’s victory. Tomorrow’s victory will be sweeter because you had to fight harder to win it.
Does God have a blueprint for your life? Yes, but there’s only one copy, and it’s locked up on the second floor of the administration building in heaven, and I don’t know any way you can get a copy. We aren’t given advance notice of what tomorrow will bring. That’s true for all of us–rich and poor, young and old, new Christian or mature believer. Trusting God means taking the next step and leaving the results in his hands.
Lord Jesus, may I have Your perfect balance of grace and truth today. Amen.
"Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust him for his grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face."
Waiting time isn't wasted time if you are waiting on the Lord.
Some things make no sense now. They will still make no sense on the day we die. But God will make sense of them later. God has no loose ends and no unfinished business.
"Don't waste your breath on fools, for they will despise the wisest advice" (Proverbs 23:9). Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all. Just let it pass, or walk away. Arguing with a fool is like wrestling with a pig. You get dirty and the pig loves it.
Heavenly Father, in hard times I often do not know how to pray. May my trials lead me back to Your throne where I can find grace to help in the nick of time. Amen.

Ephesians 5:19 tells us to “speak to one another” in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. As we do that, we are singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord. Parents, sing to your children and to your grandchildren. Make sure they hear you singing in church. Teach your children and grandchildren to sing hymns, gospel songs, and choruses. Sing while you are in the shower. Sing while you ride your bike. Sing while you listen to the radio. Sing while you work out. Go ahead. Drive the devil nuts. He hates the music God loves. So sing out and make the devil mad.
There's a reason why sin is called forbidden fruit. At first glance, it looks delicious. That's why Eve ate the fruit in the first place. She even gave it to Adam, who should have known better, but he didn't, so he ate it too. That's why we're so messed up today. When will we ever learn?
