Good Words for Today: June 6

“When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you” (Psalm 73: 21-22). True repentance looks like this. It recognizes the sin, calls it by name, goes to the root of the matter, and admits the truth. One version says, “I was totally ignorant, a dumb ox in your very presence.” That’s telling it like it is.
