Gone Cruising

June 7, 2009

By the time you read these words Marlene and I will be heading to Puerto Rico to board a ship for a seven-night Caribbean cruise. I’m not totally sure about all the places we’ll visit, but I know St. Thomas is on the list, along with Barbados and St. Maarten and a few other islands.

This is not a ministry trip or a “working vacation.” I’m not doing any speaking at all. We’re taking this trip to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

I’m not even taking my computer with me. Most people who know me can’t believe that, I can hardly believe it, but it’s true. When we board the ship, my laptop will be back in Tupelo.

So for the next week we’ll be cruising the Caribbean–not the Internet.

I’ve already posted some favorite articles from the past on the weblog for next week. And we’re starting a new podcast series called “Outrageous Faith.” Brian Bill will send out one of his own sermons to the email list while I’m gone.

That’s the news from our corner of the world. We’re going cruising.

See you when we get back. I hope you have a wonderful week.
