Four Thanksgiving Pictures

November 29, 2008

Like most American families, our Thanksgiving started on Thursday and continued through today. Thursday turned out to be only the third or fourth day our whole family has been together this year. Nick came over from Birmingham for the day, and we were joined by my brother Alan and my older brother Andy and his wife Betty. Nick had to go back to Birmingham early on Friday while the rest of us went to a football game in Oxford (an hour west of Tupelo). We celebrated Christmas with Josh and Leah and Mark and Vanessa tonight because they will be in Vermont and California, respectively, when Christmas rolls around next month. To celebrate the day we put up the Christmas tree and all the decorations, and at this moment we’re listening to Bing Crosby sing “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.” When we opened the gifts, everyone seemed very happy. Mark discovered that his new iPod Touch can access the Internet so he’s currently surfing the web. Tomorrow the kids leave to go back to Dallas and life will go back to a regular routine. As the years roll on, these times together become fewer and therefore more important. I think we all feel this has been a very good Thanksgiving for our family.
