Florida State Fair—Gospel Outreach Update

February 7, 2008

The Florida State Fair opened its 12-day run in Tampa today. By the time the fair closes on February 18, total attendance will top 500,000. Last week we sent 4000 copies of An Anchor for the Soul to be used as part of an evangelistic outreach at the Live Prayer Gospel Tent, a 5000-square foot tent seating 300 people right on the midway.

*The fair began today and goes for 12 days
*He’s already given out 400 copies with as many as 4 other volunteers, even tho today is the “slowest day”; weekends are busiest
*The State Fair people had given him a hard time when he went to pick up the books the other day: “Well son (Lee is 66 years old!), I hate to tell you this but your books are probably on their way back to Chicago by now.” Lee just said, “I’ll have them in 15 minutes—the Holy Spirit is working on this.” 10 minutes later someone else found them and Lee was in business.
*Tomorrow night the tent is featuring a rap group—there’s a younger crowd at night.
*There are 280 food booths at the fair. Lee said, “Who knew how many things could be deep fried!”
*The tent is on the Midway, the biggest “road” in the fair.

Keep praying. Lee will keep us updated.

Blessings,

Dave
