Eric Liddell Book Released in Chinese

August 4, 2008

Just in time for the Beijing Olympics, Evangelical Press has released a Chinese translation of an acclaimed book on the life of Eric Liddell whose amazing story was told in the movie Chariots of Fire. Eric Liddell (dubbed the “Flying Scotsman") was born in China, won a gold medal in the 1924 Paris Olympic Games, and died in an internment camp in China shortly before the end of World War II. Because of the China connection, this book will likely receive media attention and we can only hope that many people will read it and learn more about Eric Liddell’s strong faith in Jesus Christ. The book is written by John Keddie with a foreward by Sebastian Coe who won gold medals at the Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984. (HT to Keith Steiner)

Christian History magazine has published a short account of Eric Liddell’s life story.
