Elijah Book Featured in Masterwork Curriculum

June 4, 2010

A few months ago I got a call from Broadman and Holman Publishers asking if they could use my book on Elijah as part of their Masterwork adult Sunday School curriculum. I told them it was fine with me, and that was the last I heard of it until a few days ago when I got an email from a pastor saying that his church was going to be going through the Elijah book this summer.

It’s actually a neat concept. The writers at Broadman and Holman take popular books by authors such as John MacArthur, Erwin Lutzer, David Jeremiah, Beth Moore and Ravi Zacharias. They distill each book into 5-8 lessons, covering two books each quarter. This summer they are featuring my book called Fire and Rain: the Wild-Hearted Faith of Elijah along with a Charles Stanley book called “Landmines in the Path of the Believer.” The participants get the quarterly, which features excerpts from each book along with study questions and related Bible passages. They can buy the books if they want to go deeper.

If you’re looking for a good summer study topic, you might want to consider ordering the Masterwork study guide from Lifeway. It won’t be available for purchase after this summer so act now if you would like to have a copy or if you think your class or home Bible study would enjoy going through the life of Elijah and “Landmines” by Charles Stanley.
