A Gift for China

December 15, 2011

Are you looking for a last-minute Christmas gift?

What about giving the gift of God’s Word to China?

In April 2012 we will begin broadcasting three times a week into China from the Trans World Radio facilities in Guam. Our potential audience in Mainland China will be a staggering 878 million people. That’s more than twice the population of the US.

We’re also launching a Mandarin language website (with iPhone and Android apps) so that every broadcast will be available for downloading 24/7. And we’re also launching a hands-on plan to equip Chinese pastors with free Bible study resources through flash drives that we will distribute throughout China.

If you wonder what Mandarin sounds like, listen to this one-minute portion of the Christmas story from Luke 2:

Source: AudioScriptures.org

That’s the beginning of the story of Mary and Joseph and their long journey to Bethlehem. It’s the Mandarin version of the English text that begins this way:

“In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world» (Luke 2:1).

We chose a one-minute segment because that’s an easy way to think of the cost of our China project. Each broadcast minute costs $12.50. You can do the math yourself:

1 minute = $12.50
2 minutes = $25.00
5 minutes = $62.50
10 minutes = $125.00

Just focus on that one minute for a moment. Here’s a question to consider:

“Would you spend $12.50 for the chance to reach 878 million people for Jesus?”

Perhaps you’d like to invest in a Christmas gift to help get the Good News of Jesus to the people of China. You can use our online giving option or you can make a gift through the mail using this address:

If you write a check, jot the word “China” in the memo section. All gifts received by December 31 (or postmarked by December 31) will be credited as part of your 2011 giving.

We’re excited about the door God has opened for us in China. You can join in this new venture with a gift of $12.50 to cover one minute of broadcast time. You can also give in honor of a friend or in memory of a loved one. Parents can use this as a wonderful teaching tool with your children.

You can download a gift notification certificate letting your friends know you have a made a gift to the Keep Believing China project in their honor.

We’re praying for many friends to become co-laborers with us as we light the darkness with the gospel of Christ.
