Check Out Biblos.com

October 5, 2007

I just found a helpful Bible study website called Biblos.com that offers a simple way for you to compare many different Bible translations of a particular verse. This morning I’m working on a sermon on Mark 8:22-26. Just type in, say, Mark 8:23, and the verse pops up in 13 different translations. Plus it offers numerous cross-references and quotes from older commentaries. It also has a function that lets you check out the same verse in some of the newer translations using Bible Gateway and several other search sites. I think the interface is easier to use than the one at Bible Gateway, and between these two sites, you can easily compare all the Bible translations you will ever need. Biblos.com has a function that lets you compare verses in various languages also. It’s definitely worth adding to your list of online Bible study resources.
