Basically we are in full countdown mode for our final big trip of the year that starts on Thursday and takes us to Illinois, Florida and Chicago. First up is the Keep Believing Open House this Saturday night. Thanks to the kindness of some friends, we are able to use a beautiful meeting room at Concordia University in River Forest in suburban Chicago. If the weather holds, we’re expecting 150-200 people to join us for a time of refreshments, fellowship, and an update on what God is doing through Keep Believing Ministries.

By the way, if you live in the Chicago area, you are most welcome to join us for the Open House. We’ll be meeting from 7-9 PM. We’re hard at work on all aspects of the meeting, but our key focus all weekend and today has been on the PowerPoint presentation and the video Skype call we recorded with Pastor Peter in China a few days ago. I will spare you the details (mostly because I don’t understand them all), but suffice it to say that we have run into a few problems involving things like “frames per second” and an audio track that is slightly smaller than the video track, and we’ve been looking into something called a codec, which I really couldn’t say how it works but there are lots of them and they encode and decode various audio and video formats. Derek Taylor, our web designer, spent hours on the project during his family’s trip to Tupelo.

Meanwhile Marlene has been learning a lot of new tricks about PowerPoint. And we do have a way to show the video from Pastor Peter at the Open House. The whole thing has got us praying–-a lot! 

There’s much more to this trip–including the enormous privilege of speaking this Sunday for the 100th anniversary service of the Chinese Bible Church of Oak Park. On Monday we’re flying to Florida where I will give 10 lectures on the Book of Daniel at Word of Life Bible Institute in Hudson, about 45 minutes north of Tampa. Then it’s on to Columbus, Ohio next weekend.

But more about that later. Right now we’re worn out after working on the PowerPoint and the video all day long. I’m happy to report that everything seems to be coming together at last.
