Bolivia Soon

January 5, 2008

8:06 AM I stayed up until almost 1 AM loading my iPod Shuffle. Turned out to be easier than I thought. I haven’t played anything yet, but I spent an hour (or more) loading podcasts from various programs–mostly sermons and ministry broadcasts. I ended up with 21 hours of programming and 43 different podcasts. That should be more than enough for the upcoming trip.

Passports
Yellow fever vaccination certificate
Letter of invitation
Credit cards
$200 US cash (required for a Bolivian visa, which we will purchase at the airport in Santa Cruz)
Candy (requested by the missionaries)
Books
Computer
Message notes
Dogs to Alan
Haircut
Print out flight plans
Pack
Camera
Cell phone and charger

This morning I scanned and printed a few papers we may need. Here’s one fact that takes some getting used to. Because we’re flying south of the equator, it’s now summer in Bolivia. The current temp is 75, with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s and into the 90s some days. So we’ve had to find our summer clothes for this trip.

We leave for the Memphis airport in about 45 minutes.
