Betwen Trapezes

March 7, 2013

Dear Prayer Partners,

Between trapezes.

That’s how we feel at the moment. A friend wrote to remind us that living by faith is like being “between trapezes.” You’ve got to let go of one trapeze in order to grab the next one. Faith is that moment in between when you are suspended in mid-air.

We felt that way when we moved from Chicago to Tupelo in 2005. Now we feel that way again as we prepare to move from Tupelo to Dallas. Several weeks ago someone signed a contract to buy our house here. As we learned last fall, no house is truly “sold” until the deal is done. But this one seems solid.

Once the sale closes on April 2, we plan to move to Dallas so that we can be near our grandchildren and so that we can open our first-ever KBM office. A few days ago we signed a contract on a home in Dallas near White Rock Lake. We’ve also found some excellent office space for the ministry not far from Dallas Theological Seminary and close to where Josh and Leah and Mark and Vanessa live.

More and more, we see the need to invest in the up and coming generation. We can do that by moving to Dallas, being near the seminary, and working with Mark and Josh. We plan to continue teaching in Bible institutes (Ray taught Galatians to 275 enthusiastic students two weeks ago) around the world.

Mostly we want to ask for your prayers during these next few weeks as we are “between trapezes” once again. It’s scary and fun and stretching all at the same time. One of our KBM board members put it this way:

Moving! Everything is “moving”. God’s moving ….. you’re moving because God’s moving. All very exciting to see and I can’t wait for us to look back and see how He orchestrated the whole thing!

That’s how we feel too. Pray for us as we work through a mountain of details large and small over the next few weeks. We’ll keep you posted on how things progress on the move to Dallas.

Please stay in touch and let us know you are doing. We love hearing from you.

God bless you!
