Beautiful Feet

This morning Josh and Leah leave for China where they will be team leaders for a group of English teachers serving with ELIC. Last Tuesday they started their training in the Los Angeles area. On Thursday they met their team. Last night all the China teachers and leaders were commissioned for service. From Los Angeles they fly to Shanghai and then on to Beijing. After a period of orientation, the various teams go to schools and universities across China where they will begin teaching in early September. Josh spent a year as a teacher in China. After coming back to the States, he and Leah began dating and were married last summer. In January he and Leah visited China so she could experience it for herself. Later they applied and were accepted as team leaders.

And so at last the day has come.

When we said goodbye to them in California a little over a week ago, Marlene and I wept and hugged them and told them how proud we are. At Marlene’s request, Josh took this picture of Leah’s feet and his feet and added the inscription that means so much to us, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:15 NKJV). They gave her the picture for Mother’s Day. It now hangs in our bedroom so we can see it every morning.
