Sailors with Anchors

Sailors at the Tampa Seafarers Center

Dear Praying Friends,

Recently we received an email from Steve Finnesy, chaplain and Executive Director of the Tampa Seafarers Center, a ministry serving the sailors who come to the port of Tampa from all over the world. We had sent them copies of An Anchor for the Soul and Steve sent this picture so we could see our little “gospel book” in action. This is what he wrote:

Here is a picture of a crew that was here in the Seafarers Center tonight. A couple of these guys are strong believers and we were able to equip all of them with a copy of An Anchor for the Soul and encourage them to use this on board their ship to conduct a book study on it. It is our prayer that through this book study they will all become believers.

Thank you for equipping us with this book and we praise God for what he will do on this ship and in these men.

This is just one example of how we partner with evangelistic ministries large and small all across America. A few days ago we got a request from someone who wants to use the books as part of his ministry with Teen Challenge.

That’s why we’re raising $70,000 in our 15th Anniversary Anchor Book Project.  A few weeks ago another 100,000 copies arrived at our Book Depot in Pontiac, IL. Would you join us in praying that the remaining funds needed would come in quickly?

This morning we are flying to Wisconsin for a week of ministry at Camp Forest Springs in north central Wisconsin, about an hour northwest of Wausau. We’ve been to the camp many times, but this is our first time to spend a full week there. Please pray for travel mercies, good health, strength, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit as we minister to the people.

Thank you for being part of the Keep Believing Prayer Team. Let us know how you are doing and how we can pray for you.

God bless you!

Ray and Marlene
