Anchor for the Soul 15th Anniversary Project

May 15, 2015

It’s hard to believe that 15 years have passed since Moody published the first edition of An Anchor for the Soul. I remember being thrilled when the book sold around 60,000 copies in the first year. But God had bigger plans. Fast forward to 2015. There are now 823,000 copies in print. That’s a stupendous number by any calculation.

Little did I know back then that we would give away over 700,000 copies. We started by partnering with Prison Fellowship and Good News Jail and Prison Ministries. When the Iraq War began in 2003, we gave away thousands of copies to various military ministries. In recent years we have started donating copies to crisis pregnancy centers across America. Along the way we’ve shipped books to some very specialized ministries, including an outreach to prostitutes in the Midwest and ministries that reach outlaw bikers in Iowa and Maine.

Because our stock of books has run low, we have just ordered 100,000 more copies at a cost of $70,000. That total includes the cost of printing, storage, and shipping to the various ministries. We ship the books in boxes of 100. Each box costs us $70.

Your gift of $70 pays for 100 books.
Your gift of $700 pays for 1000 books.
Your gift of $7000 pays for 10,000 books.

We partner with excellent ministries that will put those books into the hands of men and women who need Jesus.

As we have done in the past, we’re asking our friends to help us. We’ve given away 700,000 copies because of friends like you who believe in the Anchor project. I’m going to ask you to do two things:

1. Watch the video. It’s less than four minutes.
2. Ask God what he wants you to do.

Here’s the link to our 15th Anniversary Anchor Project Page that gives you more detail plus it has a wonderful video testimony by Nick Santiago.

Thanks in advance for your help.
