9:49 AM Nice surprise: I received a postcard wishing me Happy Birthday from the Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor in Forest Park. The postcard entitles me to a free scoop of ice cream, and I have until October 1 to use it. Sweet deal. 9:47 AM I’m having lunch with Brian Bill today. He lives in Pontiac so that means I’ll be leaving very soon for the 90-mile drive. 9:43 AM This is the big day! Awana begins tonight. The midweek suppers begin tonight. The ads for “God Speaks Today” appear in both local papers today. We meet in the sanctuary at 7 PM for the Concert of Prayer. And the countdown continues … 4 days until the “God Speaks Today” series begins. 15 days until “First Watch” begins.
