October 27, 2004

11:01 AM It’s a beautiful morning in Tupelo. Marlene and I went for a walk a little while ago. At the moment Alan is at work, Marene is shopping, and I’m at the computer (naturally). So what’s happening in Tupelo these days? I found this item buried in the “Police Reports” section of today’s paper:

When a Hill-n-Dale Drive resident left her home Monday morning, she noticed a white terrier eating her decorative scarecrow. Sunday she saw a large black and brown dog eating her flowers on the back porch. The resident tried to make the dog leave, but the large dog attempted to bite her. The animal control officer was able to catch the black and brown dog, but the scarecrow-eating terrier is still on the prowl.

8:39 AM Calling all men! Don’t forget that First Watch meets tomorrow morning. Breakfast will be served starting at 5:55 AM. Pastor Bob Boerman speaks on “The Battle for Brotherhood.” 8:33 AM This week’s Christian Carnival is now online. Lots of fascinating articles from Christian bloggers across the Internet. My entry, “If You Lose Your Cool,” is included. 7:01 AM While we’re talking about prayer, don’t forget the Concert of Prayer for the election this Sunday night at 6 PM in the Dining Room. Join with your brothers and sisters in Christ to seek God’s face about the decisions we must make next Tuesday. Before you come, spend some time meditating on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. 7:00 AM Beyond the Rim issues a stirring call to prayer regarding the election.
