May 11, 2005

1:51 PM This week’s edition of the Christian Carnival is now online. It includes entries from the far corners of the Christian blogosphere, including a Mother’s Day entry I wrote called, “When I Danced for My Mother.” 10:07 AM Tidbits from our two local papers: I’m hungry for some conch fritters. The 8th Grade team from Julian Middle School placed first in the state in the News Bowl competition. Paul Rubio from Calvary was a member of the championship team. A thief makes amends. God bless this father for speaking out to protect his daughter. Dan Haley says a generational change is underway in Oak Park. Here’s a quote I can identify with:

A more subtle change, and one suggested to me over the past weekend, is a generational one. Partly, I’m getting older and everyone seems like a kid. I acknowledge that.

9:58 AM This Sunday night (May 15) at 6 PM our children’s choirs will present the musical J-Force to the Rescue. Teaching that Jesus is both Savior and Friend, this musical is filled with an energetic, powerful “techno” sound, and features the Sonshine Club and All for Him. No tickets are necessary. Refreshments will be served following the performance. 6:02 AM A big Wednesday shout-out to George Kantartzis in Greece, Pastor Wilson Hu of the Lansdowne Chinese Baptist Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Meghan Hope, Andy and Cheri Fossler, to Alan and Vicki and Debbie, Len Goss, Kim Overcash, Dale and Sara Wolery in Montana, Angie Pogliano and Tom Cusham.
