3:39 PM Congrats to the Vineyard Church of Oak Park for a creative way of serving others. 3:26 PM Is Oak Park sexy? Today “The View,” a popular women’s TV program hosted by Barbara Walters, named Oak Park one of America’s sexiest suburbs. Is this true? Is it a good thing? The clip on “The View” featured scenes from our lovely village, including the Farmer’s Market, which I happened to visit last Saturday to buy donuts and blueberries. I saw Al Elliott there playing his bass fiddle and a few other notables that I mentioned in my Saturday morning blog entry. Lots of fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers. Relaxed? Yes. Sexy? I guess it’s in the eyes of the beholder. It’s a nice honor, I suppose, since we’re the only suburb in the Midwest that made the top five. Last week Naperville was named the third most livable city in the US. I’d still rather live in Oak Park. 3:21 PM Here are the latest entries in the Crosswalk weblog: Gull Lake—Day 3 Gull Lake—Day 2 2:42 PM Chuck Colson tells the riveting story of Nien Cheng, a Christian imprisoned for six years during the Cultural Revolution in China. 5:47 AM The Wednesday Journal has an excellent update on Justin Olson and how he’s doing as a pitcher in AA baseball. 5:34 AM Breakfast this morning was a can of SoBe Adrenalin Rush (much better than Red Bull) and two mini-Moon Pies. Definitely a breakfast of champions. 5:34 AM 1298 miles. 5:33 AM John Roberts … A great choice … Thank you, Mr. President.
