6:28 PM Here are three new entries on the Crosswalk weblog: Oak Park and the Future of Our Church Get Off Your “But” It’s Not About Me 11:02 AM Kudos to Darrel Babuk who designed our new church sign. Last week the workers installed the stones around the base and sides of the sign. A concrete cap will be added in a few days (weather permitting). We will also add lights that will illuminate the sign during the evening hours. The workers used leftover stones from the new portico, which means that the sign matches the granite stones in the outer walls of the church. 11:00 AM Brian Bill has just started his own weblog. 8:11 AM We leave for China in 9 days. Current weather in Beijing: 21 degrees and hazy. The forecast for the next few days calls for high temps 26-33, with lows ranging from the teens to the single digits. Basically the same as Chicago but without the snow. 8:10 AM On Sunday the congregation gave almost $20,000 for Tsunami Disaster Relief. That’s one of the highest special offerings in our history. We expect more to come in during the week. All of it will be given to Samaritan’s Purse for their disaster relief efforts in those countries hit by the tsunamis. 8:08 AM Snow is on the way. You can see the massive storm on the regional radar. The clouds are lined up like an armored division over Nebraska and Kansas and they are headed straight for Chicago.
