4:00 PM Calling all men to First Watch this Thursday morning. I’ll be teaching the “Bad News-Good News” method of sharing Christ. If you want to be part of the “Calvary 500,” come to First Watch. We start serving breakfast at 5:55 AM. 1:38 PM Here’s an Anchor for the Soul update from Brian Bill in Pontiac, IL:

About a year ago I met with a high school student after he had been released from drug treatment and shared the gospel with him. I gave him Anchor for the Soul and then didn’t hear from him again. Fast forward to this year. This young man is now in jail and I went to visit him last Sunday and brought another copy of Anchor. He told me he hadn’t read it yet so I gave a new copy to him. Here’s the cool thing. He’s now reading it and has asked his mom to read it as well (she’s reading the copy I gave him a year ago). Five minutes ago, his grandma stopped in asked me for another copy of Anchor because her grandson asked her to read it as well! Both mom and grandma are committed Christians. They’re very encouraged because now they will be able to dialog with him about the contents of the book. I think he’s not far from the kingdom. (Update just received from Brian: “This past Sunday I stopped by to see him again and he told me that he had prayed to receive Christ! He signed his name and put the date of 2/11/05 next to the suggested prayer.”) One other report. Yesterday I met with a young mother who prayed to receive Christ. When we were finished talking I tried to give her the Anchor book. She told me that she already had a copy and had read it several times (we have them available on our resource table free-of-charge). God used the book to lay everything out for her. I had the joy of participating in the harvest, but God used your book to sow and cultivate the seed.

1:37 PM Special hello to Katie and John who watched last Sunday’s worship service via the Internet in Bradenton, Florida. 11:19 AM Gay activists picketed Moody Church last Saturday. 10:54 AM Brian Bill began his sermon on Sunday this way:

Since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d begin with “The Top Ten Lines” that may have been used by Adam when he courted Eve. 10. You know you’re the only one for me. 9. Do you come here often? 8. Trust me, this was meant to be! (I tried this one out on Beth when we were dating – it didn’t work real well!) 7. Look around, baby. All the other guys are animals! 6. I already feel like you’re a part of me! 5. Honey, you were made for me! 4. You’re the girl of my dreams! (See Genesis 2:21) 3. I like a woman who doesn’t mind being ribbed! 2. You’re the apple of my eye! 1. Why don’t you come over to my place and we can name the animals?

# 7 is my favorite.
