3:24 PM Bob Boerman just came in and told me to be at the church tonight at 7 PM for a special taping for Summer Breakaway. Since Marlene and I won’t there this year (our first time to miss in ten years), I’m taping a special message for those who will be there. The theme this year has something to do with knights and kings and castles and things like that so Bob tells me that I’m going to be dressed up in a king’s outfit with some kind of crown with big feathers sticking out of it. My office is festooned with two heraldic banners plus a throne. There is no script so this will be more like “Who’s Line Is It, Anyway?” than Shakespeare in the Park.

10:12 AM Here’s the Legacy Campaign prayer request for today: “Praise God for His sovereign control over all aspects of the renovation project.” Work continues as we prepare for major construction to begin next week. Major clear-out has been done in the Resource Center, Receptionist office, gym stage, missionary apartment, and the storage room under the sanctuary. Workers are preparing a new outside entrance into the parlor-dining room area becuase the west portico entrance will be closed during construction. A fence will be erected in the west parking lot, leaving only a drop-off area for Sunday mornings. All west parking lot spaces will be lost during construction.

Ebook: ABC’s of Wisdom

In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon left us a treasure trove of practical principles for daily living. The ardent pursuit of wisdom is every Chistian’s calling! Wisdom “is a tree of life to those who embrace her. Those who lay hold of her will be blessed.” (Proverbs 3:18)

“Equipping and encouraging people to keep believing in Jesus”

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
