5:56 AM Yesterday’s Bowlathon raised $9000 for Oak Park Christian Academy. First time I had bowled in about 10 years—and it showed. My high score was 102—and my other one wasn’t. Marlene and I both had a blast. More people showed up than they expected. Afterwards I went to the Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor and had a chocolate malt. Saw Connie Brown, Laura Jahns and John Stoffer. Connie says they’ve been doing good business. My malt was terrific—thick and very chocolatey so that I could just barely drink it out of a straw. 5:55 AM Today is the day for the Family Fun Fest. I predict the weather will be just fine by 12:30 PM. Free hot dogs for the first 1000 people. Plus this is Day in Our Village in Oak Park. It’s the biggest party of the year.
