9:40 PM The latest entry in the Crosswalk weblog is called Why Should We Care About Terri Schiavo?. 3:00 PM Speaking of “The Church in Many PLaces,” Pastor Craig Hammond and a team from our Allied Force High School Ministry left this morning for a spring break missions trip to Memphis. They will be working on a construction project and reaching out to neighborhood children. Please pray for the team members: Students Michelle Agosto Megan Childs David Dodgson Nicole Dores Jessica Grow Heidi Jahns Faith Jirsa Amira Malley Cristina McKee Steve Ridolphi Jeremy Tyler Leaders Craig Hammond Bob Liska Kim McBride 10:50 AM Calvary is on the move this weekend … Just talked via cell phone to Mary Gaskill. The Gaskill clan is currently passing through Nashville on their way to Orange Beach, Alabama, on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Mary gave me Bob Boerman’s cell phone number so I called to check on him. Bob and Jean and Kim and Amy Jahns left after the Good Friday services and drove through the night on their way to Naples, Florida. Right now they are eating lunch at a Wendy’s in Valdosta, Georgia. When I told Bob we had some snow in Oak Park this AM, he laughed and said it was about 75 and clear in Georgia. He also said that Amy was supposed to stay awake while Kim drove from midnight till 4 AM, but she kept falling asleep. (UPDATE: Bob called from Lake City, Florida about 1 PM to report that Amy Jahns won the “spot the first palm tree” contest. He said it was 83 degrees and stormy. He also mentioned that he plans to scout locations for the “Calvary in Florida” multi-site. That idea could be expanded in several directions: Calvary Maui … Calvary Aruba … Calvary Key West. Works for me. I wouldn’t mind preaching for a couple of weeks each year in Maui or Aruba. 10:49 AM The latest entry in the Crosswalk weblog is called “I Thirst”. It contains the text of my message at the Good Friday services.
