11:28 AM We went to the Farmers Market this morning and bought some donuts, blueberries, corn, red tomatoes, green tomatoes, green peppers, fresh mozzarella and garlic and dill cheddar cheese curds, fresh-cut flowers, and the sweetest cantaloupe I’ve had in years. Nick and Josh bought some apples. Special note to Ken: I had an extra donut in your honor when we got back home. Seen at the market … Paul and Carol Ungaretti and their two children … Mark Todd and his sister and brother-in-law and their daughter from California, Dick Reiter and his daughter Laura, Kent Magnusson, and Marlene spotted renowned radio commentator Paul Harvey who lives in neighboring River Forest. Further thought … Why would anyone buy eggplant? … Still further note … Ken sent me this link about the glories of the eggplant. I learned quite a bit but was shocked by this sentence: “It is one of the more popular vegetables in the world.” I stand corrected. Let’s all eat more eggplant. 11:27 AM Still no rain but the radar looks a little iffy. 7:43 AM No rain yet. It’s a great day for a picnic. 7:40 AM Here are the latest entries in the Crosswalk weblog: Why Men Hate Going to Church Ken Trainor’s Theology Lesson On the Road to China
