9:59 PM Today’s entry in the Crosswalk weblog is called Make All the Good People Nice. 8:48 PM I’ve done more bike riding than usual in the last week—along the North Branch Trail, the Prairie Path to Wheaton, south into Berwyn and Cicero, from North Avenue to Central, then south through Austin into Cicero, to 26th Street east across Cicero Avenue, then west on 26th almost to Harlem, then back home. Today I rode Washington Avenue east into downtown Chicago where I visited the newly-opened Millennium Park—a stunningly beautiful site that lives up to and then exceeds expectations. Then back home along Randolph Street and Lake Street. You see a lot of Chicago this way, including the West Side neighborhoods, the United Center, Harpo Studio (home of the Oprah Winfrey Show), the theater district, and Garfield Park. So far I’ve ridden 2474 miles this year. 8:41 AM Happy Labor Day! 8:40 AM Counting down the days … 2 days until the Concert of Prayer for “God Speaks Today” 6 days until the “God Speaks Today” series begins. 17 days until “First Watch” begins.
