November 15, 2004

11:46 PM There are three new entries on the Crosswalk weblog: The Pastors’ Retreat—Day 1 God Takes Care of Them All Mark and the Presbyterian Church 12:35 PM Our 2005 theme is “The Church in Many Places,” and our theme verse will be Acts 8:4, “Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” Note: We’re still looking for volunteers to help make the sanctuary banners. Scroll down to the Saturday entry for more details. 12:32 PM During the business meeting last night, I mentioned the book Global Chicago. Read this and you’ll be convinced that Chicago is on the verge of becoming a global city. As that happens in the next 10-20 years, I believe Calvary is well-positioned to become a church with a worldwide impact. 12:24 PM A note from Donny Williams:

Wanted to let you know that a group of eight of us are heading out to the Billy Graham Crusade in Los Angeles this week. The services will be held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Mary Brooks, Barbara Gardner, Rosa Cervantes, Catherine Faires, David Haas, Tom Regan and Keith Johnson will be joining me for the adventure. We head out on Tuesday the 16th and return Sunday evening the 21st. We plan to attend Thurs – Sat night and are also looking to volunteer while at the crusade.

12:22 Men! Don’t forget about First Watch this Thursday morning. We start serving breakfast at 5:55 AM. I’ll be speaking on “The Battle for Spiritual Growth.” 12:21 PM The pastors are leaving at 4 PM for an overnight retreat at the Morris’s cottage in McHenry. I’m rushing around trying to get things caught up before we go. 12:21 PM 3062 miles.
