10:47 PM John Armstrong of Reformation and Revival Ministries in Carol Stream writes a weekly email newsletter that discusses current news and critical issues from a Christian perspective. Highly recommended. I look forward to reading it each week because John always helps me think more Christianly. It’s free, and you can sign up here. 10:46 PM From Ted King: “Just wanted to let you know that NBC 5 came out to the office a couple of weeks ago to do a piece on our treatment of varicose veins. It will be on the 10 PM news on Tuesday, June 8, Channel 5. I am guessing it will be a 3 minute blurb at the end of the half hour, in case you get a chance to turn it on.” 6:29 PM Speaking of President Reagan, here are his remarks at a prayer breakfast in Dallas in 1984.

Without God, there is no virtue, because there’s no prompting of the conscience. Without God, we’re mired in the material, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.

6:24 PM Michael Reagan surveys the cultural decline in American and wants to know, “Where are the churches?”. (Hat tip to Derek Taylor for the link.)

All of this is going on. Today you have the Pope and the Catholic Church almost alone fighting to hold back this assault against morality. It’s about time for other churches to stand up, join them and take the same kind of stand instead of giving into this ongoing destruction of all that is good and decent and moral.

4:16 PM Today’s entry in the Crosswalk weblog is called Answering My Mail. A father writes because his son, after being raised in church, and after going on missionary trips and attending a Christian college, has now embraced the homosexual lifestyle and still claims to be a Christian.
